The Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, “Costume Art,” explores the central role of the dressed body across 5,000 years of fashion and art. Curated by Andrew Bolton and debuting in The Costume Institute’s expansive new home, adjacent to The Met’s Great Hall, the exhibition pairs garments and works of art from across the Museum’s vast collection, illuminating the connection between fashion, the body, and fashion as an embodied artform of creative expression.

“Costume Art” will be on view at The Met Fifth Avenue from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027.
