PRESS RELEASES
May 15, 2019
On Saturday 1st June, The Pie Room will host its first ever ‘Pie Masterclass for Kids’, led by Rosewood London’s Nokuthula Mbambo – Sous Chef at Holborn Dining Room.
Taking place on a monthly basis, the immersive pastry workshops will allow six budding little chefs to takeover the acclaimed Pie Room. Each participant will be equipped with a personalised apron, chef’s hat, and miniature rolling pin to allow them to fully step into their new role as chef. Over the course of two hours, they will learn how to make both a savoury and sweet dish from scratch -- a classic British sausage roll and an apple pie that they can take home, under the tutelage of two of Holborn Dining Room’s finest pastry experts.
Nokuthula Mbambo, or Nokx as she is known, joined the team at Rosewood London in May 2014. Working under the tutelage of Holborn Dining Room’s Executive Head Chef Calum Franklin, Nokx is an expert in the specialist and intricate skills of pastry making, which she showcases in the recently opened Pie Room.
The masterclasses are available for children aged 7 to 11 years, priced at £65 per child, and last 12pm-2pm, including breaks. Children (and parents) taking part will be invited to have lunch in Holborn Dining Room afterwards, where they will receive 20% off their bill.
