Scarfes Bar, inspired by the atmosphere of a drawing room and the sophistication of a gentleman’s club, features a roaring fire, a collection of cosy velvet armchairs and shelves filled with over 1,000 antique books hand-picked by a Portobello antiques dealer. A creative menu of cocktails and complimentary live music seven nights a week add to the conviviality and certainly give true meaning to the phrase ‘get scarfed’ at Gerald’s eponymous bar where potions and paintings meet.
Lunch at Scarfes Bar features a delicious menu of curries, kebabs and salads – these authentic, yet simple dishes include a mixture of local ingredients and those sourced further afield from a fair trader in India who coordinates a small number of premium spice growers. Culinary delights including the Memne Chaanp (Lamb Chops with Ginger and Mint) and Aloo Gobhi Mattar (Cauliflower, Marrowfat Peas and Potatoes, Asafoetida and Coriander) to name but a few. The Express Lunch Menu is perfect for business lunches, choose either two-courses or three-courses from a set menu which includes Scarfes Bar favourites. For evenings, the focus is on Indian bar snacks inspired by English pub favourites.
