The fashion designer duo invites guests to immerse themselves in Dallas’ local culture through highly curated experiential programming
September 27, 2021
Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, the iconic hotel in the heart of uptown Dallas, is pleased to introduce Lizzie Means Duplantis and Sarah Means, the sister design duo behind Dallas-based bespoke cowboy boot company Miron Crosby, as the property’s inaugural Rosewood PlaceMakers. The latest extension of the brand’s guiding A Sense of Place™ philosophy, wherein each property is designed to immerse guests in the destination, the PlaceMakers program taps the beacons of Rosewood’s communities to harness local culture through bespoke and exclusive experiences. As PlaceMakers for Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Lizzie and Sarah will deliver unique activations and programming for guests to enjoy, as well as digital journeys of discovery and an expertly curated destination guide, all of which highlights the essential elements of Dallas as a destination through the sisters’ fashion and design focused lens.
“Following last year’s launch of the exquisite Mansion Boot by Miron Crosby, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is delighted to be partnering with Lizzie and Sarah once again in representing the essence of Texan style and culture,” said Andrea Gates, managing director of Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. “As local business owners who grew up in our great state of Texas, Lizzie and Sarah do not just understand Dallas culture, but drive it. We’re thrilled at this opportunity to work hand in hand to provide our guests with new and unique experiences that allow them to explore Texas in a way they never have before.”
As part of the Rosewood PlaceMakers program, Lizzie and Sarah will create special and personalized experiences that immerse guests in Texan culture through fashion and design. Guests will be invited to discover how Miron Crosby cowboy boots are created with a day trip to the Rios of Mercedes Boot Factory, where visitors will experience the process of bootmaking and tour the factory with the bootmakers, which include Lizzie and Sarah’s cousins. Following a lunch at the factory, participants will have their foot lasted and will create their own custom boots to enjoy long after their visit has ended. For those that prefer to stay on property, Lizzie and Sarah are launching a PlaceMakers Party Planning service, in which the sisters and their personal event planners will help to curate the party details for guests hosting intimate gatherings at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. For whatever occasion it may be, guests can benefit from Lizzie and Sarah’s eye for design as they create the perfect tablescapes with personal touches from their family ranch and help to curate other unique details for the event including menu selections, personalized stationery, and gifts. As PlaceMakers, the sisters have also curated an extensive destination guide for Rosewood guests to reference throughout each stage of their journey. Featured experiences include everything from meeting the charming and gregarious Reagan Corbett at her ReagArt studio to shopping at Canary discovering a mix of well-known and up-and-coming fashion designers.
“Being born and raised in West Texas and now living and working in Dallas, the culture and community that has shaped us is something we hold near and dear to our hearts,” said Lizzie Means Duplantis, cofounder of Miron Crosby. “We are so excited to be working with The Mansion once again as their first PlaceMakers and look forward to guiding guests on an authentic journey through Dallas and showing them an inside look at the city we know and love,” added Sarah Means, cofounder of Miron Crosby.
A celebrated Texas icon and the inaugural property of the ultra-luxury Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® collection, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek offers a world of refinement for traveling visitors and locals alike. Once a palatial private estate, the legendary hotel is tucked away in the heart of Uptown Dallas and recently revealed an extensive redesign of its lobby, entry rotunda, guestrooms and suites by esteemed designer Thomas Pheasant. The redesign is the final part of a multi-year renovation, which included a new pool and event lawn in 2018. In addition to the newly designed spaces, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is home to the beloved Mansion Bar and Mansion Restaurant, creating an unmatched culinary experience in the city and serving up Contemporary American cuisine with French influences in an entirely residential setting.
