Epicurean encounters offer guests superb culinary adventures to explore the lush New York landscape that is home to distinctive, unique flavors.
Guests will meet our Executive Chef in The Carlyle lobby and take a New York City yellow taxi cab to the vibrant Union Square Greenmarket. Guests will be introduced to the seasonal varieties from just-picked fresh fruits to award-winning farmstead cheeses, artisan breads, wine, ciders and much more. After two hours of mingling with local farmers and bakers, guests will enjoy a sumptuous lunch at Danny Meyer’s acclaimed restaurant, Union Square Café. Experience available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

A t the Brooklyn Brewery, guests will gain firsthand experience in production brewing and be introduced to a region rich in the tradition of craft beer. Since its founding in 1998, the Brooklyn Brewery has brewed flavorful beers and its award-winning roster of year-round, seasonal and specialty beers have gained notoriety.
Our bar manager will accompany the guests in a private town car to Brooklyn where they will enjoy an educational one hour brewery tour and tasting. Guests will walk over to the popular DUMBO area, where they will enjoy an extravagant lunch basket of gourmet foods prepared by our team while taking in the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline.
Guests will also be gifted a coffee table book on Brooklyn.

Guests then head to a favorite grassy knoll to enjoy an artisanal picnic in the midst of the park. The picnic basket includes locally crafted gourmet meals from local vendors that allow for a perfectly delightful afternoon. Guests will be contacted by the chef to discuss their tastes and preferences for the leisurely afternoon of outdoor lounging.

Enjoy a personalized afternoon tea party with Mommy, friends, and Madeline in The Gallery. Inspired by the Topikapi Palace in Turkey, this intimate space is refined yet relaxed for all-day dining. Often referred to as the hotel’s “living room,” it was designed by the legendary decorator Renzo Mongiardino and serves lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails and dinner. The tea service will include a complete little lady friendly English Tea set up, delicate tea sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream and themed pastries and macaroons.
