New York, NY – The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel and bastion of Upper East Side sophistication, invites guests to savor the ‘Martini Retreat,’ a two-day experience inspired by the timelessly chic cocktail. Celebrating the quintessential beverage of New York City and The Carlyle’s beloved 75-year-old Bemelmans Bar where over 1,000 martinis are made each night. The Martini Retreat is a cultural tasting tour featuring:
• Accommodations: Two-nights at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in a Madison Room or Premier Suite exquisitely decorated by legendary designer tonychi studio.
• Bemelmans Bar Martini Box: in the room upon arrival, this kit contains everything needed to recreate the famous Bemelmans Classic Martini at home including two martini glasses, mixing glass, stirrer, strainer, jigger, cocktail picks, jar of olives, recipe card and Bemelmans cocktail napkins.
• Bemelmans Master Martini Class: a 45-minute class at the one-of-a-kind classic landmark where the talented red jacketed team will teach guests how to make variations of the venerable Martini-gin or vodka, dry, shaken, stirred, olives, twisty, dirty, filthy, etc. as well as new and popular iterations such as Madeline’s Vesper.
• Martini Lunch at Dowling’s at The Carlyle: a two-course lunch showcasing chef Sylvain Delpique’s new interpretations of classic New York throwback dishes from another era in the charming and glamorous Dowling’s dining room accompanied by miniature versions of contemporary and nostalgic martinis.
• Master Martini Recommendation List: a guide to Manhattan’s premier bars serving the city’s best martinis curated by Bemelmans Bar Manager, Dimitrios Michalopoulos
