Zhang Shaogang
Chef Zhang Shaogang learned his culinary skills under the guidance of one of China's Top Ten Master Chefs, Mr. Li Qigui. Throughout Chef Zhang’s career, he has received numerous awards and distinctions. He has also engaged in extensive exchanges on Chinese culinary culture with food experts and renowned scholars in countries such as Italy and the United States. Over the past decade, he has made multiple appearances on television programs, including China Central Television (CCTV) and Beijing Television, establishing himself as an influential television chef.
Chef Zhang, a Beijing native, entered the culinary industry in 1989 and has dedicated 34 years to it. During this time, he spent a decade as the head chef at the famous Tai Feng Lou restaurant, one of the "Top Eight Lous" known for its Beijing-Shandong cuisine, which helped him gain a deep understanding of the region’s culinary techniques. He excels in preparing this style of dishes, making him a culinary heir to the tradition of Beijing-Shandong cuisine.
Chef Zhang is known for his meticulous selection of ingredients and a focus on traditional techniques. His cooking philosophy revolves around showcasing natural flavors and creating exquisite dishes with simple yet refined combinations.
