Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Beijing has introduced a new range of holistic treatments centered on the principles of simplicity, purity and well-being that pay tribute to ancient remedies, complemented by its debut of sophisticated BABOR and PATYKA product lines.
Drawing from beauty practices and well-being therapies used by Chinese emperors and empresses, the new offerings – such as the Empress Dowager Cixi Facial and Hair Fair Maiden treatment – are steeped in history and delivered with a modern approach to centuries-old healing.
This season two new luxury and result-driven brands are introduced into the treatments, BABOR and PATYKA. German brand BABOR is a pioneer in professional skincare while French brand PATYKA enhances skin through 100% organic-certified, efficiency-proven formulas, highly concentrated in biotechnological active ingredients and botanical extracts.
The Sense experience in Beijing is both integrated and authentic, from the use of exquisite natural bamboo linens to premium quality organic essential oils. The finest indigenous raw ingredients are paired fluidly with timeless health and beauty rituals. An integrated sanctuary, the Sense concept flows seamlessly through every touchpoint, from the interior design to the choice of exclusive product brands to the signature treatments that are perceptively customized to each individual.
The surroundings of Sense incorporate the healing benefits of nature. The pool area is encased by a soaring domed glass roof – the only one of its kind amongst Beijing luxury hotels – that allows natural light to flood the space, while the flames of candlelight encircle the still water at night. Abundant foliage, akin to that of a tropical resort, fills the area. Private cabana alcoves within the comfort of a temperature-controlled environment, allow visitors privacy to absorb the nurturing atmosphere.
Two Spa Suites are designed in keeping with the Sense concept to include some with open-air balconies and lush greenery, and ultra-spacious at 91 square meters for the luxurious option of overnight stays.
Sense also offers the most sophisticated of amenities and facilities, from Gharieni treatment beds that convert into extravagant water spa tables complete with LED bars for color therapy to spa facilities that include a fitness studio with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and a yoga studio.
The 32,000-square-foot Sense spa interior is a calming and cohesive universe of blonde woods, contemporary leather and bamboo furnishings, and intriguing contemporary artwork mirrored in reflection pools.

Sense Signature - Customized for the guest’s condition, therapists tailor a combination of massage techniques to address individual needs and to help relieve specific aches and pains.
Tui Na - Practiced in China for more than 2,000 years, this healing therapy works on the body’s energy points combining gliding, kneading, vibration, tapping, friction, pulling, rolling and pressure point movements. Ideal for addressing chronic pain, Tui Na produces the unique sensation of both relaxation and rejuvenation.
Emperor’s Foundation - Ancient tales from Forbidden City concubines tell of the rituals of the emperor’s journey into each day. A foot cleansing involved soaking the royal feet in a warm bath of botanical extracts, and was essential to help cleanse the emperor’s aura, keeping him grounded and humble in his heavy task of ruling China. This extensive lower body treatment of bathing, massage and moisturizing offers special attention to the legs and feet, relieving tension, improving blood flow and nourishing the skin.
Tailored Therapy - Experience iconic Bi-Phase Cleansing Ritual is the most intensive form of beauty therapy - a professional beauty ampoule treatment. With highly concentrated natural active ingredients tailored to different skin types, this treatment immediately produces visible results which can be seen and felt.

Sense is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily; the Juice Bar from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the Swimming Pool from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Fitness Studio is open 24/7 for guests.
