From the iconic harvest event to an experiential truffle hunting package, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is dedicated to immersing guests in the deeply rooted traditions of the destination.
Available from September 15 – September 29, 2019, the three-night Harvest Experience Package guides guests through the incredible journey of La Vendemmia, the highly-anticipated annual grape harvest. Led by the expert staff at the property’s award-winning winery, a leading producer of Brunello di Montalcino, guests will discover the secrets of this ancient ritual during every step of the winemaking art.
The Harvest Experience Package includes an educational harvest experience, during which each participant is equipped with a complete Harvest Kit, featuring all the tools for participating in the wine harvest, including scissors, gloves and boots. After picking up their kit, guests meet the wine experts of Castiglion del Bosco Winery at the stunning Capanna Vineyard, where they learn about the various harvest techniques in detail. Guests will then enjoy a hands-on experience as they learn how to pick the grapes, before being guided through a tasting of six different wines. The experience continues at the winery, where guests learn about the grape selection and the fermentation and aging phases of Brunello di Montalcino.
In addition to the harvest experience, the package also includes a delightful picnic in the vineyards. Surrounded by stunning panoramic views of Montalcino, guests will enjoy an authentic Tuscan picnic, featuring gourmet fare and traditional flavors. Laid out on a blanket, woven baskets reveal simple and fresh Tuscan and Italian creations prepared by the chef using produce harvested from the estate’s organic kitchen garden. Finally, a luxurious 80-minute spa treatment is the perfect way to relax after a full harvest day.

On September 18, 2019, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is leading guests through the wonders of winemaking in this magical corner of Tuscany with a hands-on and educational Harvest Event in celebration of La vendemmia. Taking place at the resort’s onsite winery, the remarkable one-day experience celebrates the highly anticipated grape harvest, a culturally significant day which marks an occasion where the soil is truly celebrated. Through grape picking, selection and stomping, guests will discover the art of winemaking, fully equipped with necessary accessories to complete the process including scissors, gloves and boots. Guests will revel in Castiglion del Bosco’s distinguished winemaking traditions, from vine to barrel, and finally flavor the wines with an unforgettable tasting experience. The property will commemorate the event with a special picnic in the vineyard and a tour of the award-winning winery.

Fall is a magical time to visit Tuscany and the truffle season is at its peak. From October 1 – November 16, 2019, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco will showcase its annual Truffle Hunting Experience. Guided by an expert and their truffle-hunting dog, guests will discover the secrets of the gold tuber with a foraging experience through the woods. Following the truffle hunting adventure, guests will indulge in a special truffle dinner featuring the delicacies foraged earlier in the day. The Truffle Hunting Package also includes a Tuscan wine tour and tasting at the property’s on-site Castiglion del Bosco winery.
