Adjacent Spaces

Some of Shanghai’s best moments happen between plans. A detour down a tree-lined lane, a bookshop you hadn’t meant to enter, a drink that turns into a long conversation.

From 12 to 18 November, as the city gathers momentum for Shanghai Art Week, Rosewood brings Adjacent Spaces to Sinan, a neighborhood experience built around three simple pleasures: a choux puff, books and a cocktail after dark.

Begin with something sweet on a street corner, drift through the afternoon and finish somewhere warm and intimate once the lights come on. Move at your own pace, and see what the neighborhood reveals when you simply give it a little time.

A Small Indulgence

Chef Jonathan Soukdeo’s much-talked-about choux creations from Rosewood Hong Kong set out on wheels for Shanghai. Three flavors, created especially for the city, bring a café-style pause to the edge of the street. Available in limited quantities each day for three days only, discover the flavors of Hokkaido Vanilla, Hokkaido Hojicha Chocolate and Taro Coconut inside crisp, delicate choux shells, carrying a dessert journey from Hong Kong to Shanghai. Open from 13 to 15 November 2026

The Bookshop: A Moment to Pause

At Sinan Books, Rosewood and T Magazine create a quiet stop. Leaf through the visual stories, then glance up and take in the street outside. Choose a postcard and write down your impression of the city. It’s then finished in bespoke wrapping for you to carry away. Through this small ritual, books, paper and the neighborhood itself become keepers of memory, giving even a passing moment in Shanghai a form you can hold on to. Open for reservations from 12 to 18 November 2026

The Nightcap at Bar Leone

Rosewood joins the Bar Leone team behind the bar for a takeover shaped by conversation, both across the counter and on the menu. Classics sit beside new creations, and flavor cues from different cities meet at the same table. Expect limited-edition cocktails, a selection of bar bites and the easy hum of a room settling in for the night. A few unhurried hours, good company and a glass worth lingering over.  Reservations are by session from 12 to 13 November 2026
