This June, Kona Village welcomes acclaimed Chef Kevin Fink of Texas’ renowned Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, the team behind some of Austin and San Antonio’s most beloved restaurants. Recognized by the MICHELIN Guide for his thoughtful, ingredient‑driven cuisine, Chef Fink joins Kona Village for a special one‑night‑only pop‑up at Moana, followed by a one‑of‑a‑kind Island Roots dining experience. 

 

Chef Fink is the partner and executive chef behind several nationally acclaimed restaurants in Austin and San Antonio, including Emmer & Rye, Hestia, Canje, Kalimotxo, Ezov, Ladino, and Henbit, as well as the culinary force behind San Antonio’s Pullman Market. A multi-time James Beard Award finalist, Fink has been recognized by Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, The New York Times, Robb Report, and the MICHELIN Guide, with multiple MICHELIN Stars, Green Stars, and Bib Gourmands across his portfolio. Join us at Moana for a special culinary evening with Chef Kevin Fink, featuring a curated menu of hand-selected Emmer & Rye favorites, thoughtfully adapted for Kona Village using locally sourced Hawaiʻi ingredients. Moana’s signature dinner menu will also be available. This experience is open to guests and the local community.

Exclusively for resort guests, Chef Kevin Fink co-hosts our signature Island Roots communal dinner beneath the kiawe trees. Centered around an imu fire pit with live-fire Hawaiian cooking, the evening features select Emmer & Rye dishes alongside Island Roots favorites, served family-style at a shared table. The experience pays homage to Chef Fink’s Texas roots while celebrating Hawaiʻi’s vibrant flavors.
