Surrounded by inspiring art, architecture, artists and artisans, guests can discover the artist within or hone their talents with private art lessons while in San Miguel de Allende. With so much delicious cuisine to discover, food lovers will also be inspired to learn to cook a dish or two as a souvenir of this magical destination.
ART LESSONS
Art workshops offer a selection of creative art classes in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastels. Lessons provide the opportunity to work on a favorite art medium or try a new technique, with endless inspiration from the picturesque setting of San Miguel de Allende and its colonial architecture and cobblestone streets.
Our instructor, Alejandro Palomares, teaches drawing, illustration and painting at San Miguel's Instituto Allende and received a degree in graphic design in Mexico City. Over his 16-year career, Alejandro has created illustrations for Coca-Cola, Readers' Digest, and others.
The class lasts three hours and can be held at various hotel locations, including La Veranda, Los Pirules gardens and Terraza Luna at Luna Bar, as well as the guest's suite.
Cost: USD150 per person, including all necessary equipment (easel, canvas, paint, brushes, color palette, apron).
GUIDED ART TOUR
Guided tours allow guests to discover the artistic history of San Miguel from its origins to the present day. Topics include:
1. Modern and contemporary art galleries
2. Mexican mills and cultural institutions
3. Traditional school of Oaxaca
4. A combination of the above topics
Duration: Two hours
Times: 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.
Cost: USD40 per hour (groups of four people).
Reservations are required 24 hours in advance. The itineraries may be adapted to the guest's tastes and preferences.
ART TOUR SMA
Art Tour SMA is a new concept that allows guests to visit galleries and art studios in San Miguel de Allende, encountering innovative and high-quality works in painting, sculpture and design.
Guests visit the studio where art is created and exhibited and have the opportunity to meet with current artists—granting an up-close look at the artistic process, from inspiration to final piece.
Includes: Guided tour of three of the best art galleries and/or studios
Duration: Four hours
Cost: USD100 per person
An exceptional culinary experience for foodies who want to learn the secrets of traditional Mexican cuisine, each cooking class starts with selecting the ingredients required, before learning how to prepare a new recipe. Afterwards, everyone enjoys the fruits of their labor during a well-earned lunch, served with a tequila or mezcal.
Menus are clean and simple, lovingly prepared and fully flavored. Ceviche and authentic guacamole are two examples of Mexican cuisine mastered by our renowned chefs and taught to guests.

TEQUILA TASTING
Tequila is a spirit made in a small region of Mexico. It is produced by distilling the fermented mash obtained from the heart of the blue agave plant. The tequila tasting is guided by our Tequila Connoisseur and includes a pairing menu selected by our Executive Chef.

MEZCAL TASTING
The heart of the agave plant, which looks like a giant pineapple, is also called "mezcal." In Nahuatl, the word means "the house of the moon" and is used to signify the heart, essence or center. Mezcal is a product of the encounter of two worlds, using a technique that originated in Europe to transform an ancient product of the Americas.
