Discover the work of London-based artist Zach Zono, whose practice explores the space between memory, abstraction and lived experience.

Born in Cape Town and now based in London, Zono draws on the light, colour and organic forms of his South African upbringing, translating them into expressive, layered compositions. Working primarily on large-scale canvases, his paintings move between the tangible and the imagined, where landscape and figuration subtly dissolve into one another.

Zono’s distinctive visual language unfolds through gestural mark-making and richly layered surfaces, creating works that feel both immediate and contemplative. Each composition invites a personal reading, where moments of movement and stillness coexist, and where memory is reimagined through colour, rhythm and form.

Presented as part of his residency at Rosewood London, Zono’s work brings a contemporary perspective to the hotel’s historic surroundings. His paintings create a quiet dialogue with the space, offering guests an opportunity to encounter a practice shaped by reflection, transformation and a continual sense of discovery.
