Aldo Álvarez Tostado

A multidisciplinary artist originally from San Pancho, Nayarit, Aldo Álvarez Tostado works across sculpture, installation, and film, with a focus on stone and object-making — as seen in the works commissioned for the villas at Rosewood Mandarina. His background in architecture informs a practice shaped by structure, material, and the surrounding landscape.

Jorge Abundis

Working primarily in painting and textiles, Jorge Abundis is known for his expressive use of color — as in the stamped linen works in purple and blue seen in the Studio Suites. Drawing on references from everyday Mexican life and on the palette and history of Jalisco, his work blends abstraction with recognizable forms, creating compositions that feel both personal and richly layered.

Sofía Cruz del Río

Sofía Cruz del Río is the founder of TEKITI, which connects traditional Mexican craftspeople to broader audiences, with a focus on fair trade. Through her collaboration with creative communities, she supports the preservation of time-honored techniques while bringing them into contemporary contexts. The framed pieces in yarn and beads seen across Rosewood Mandarina are sourced through these partnerships with local artisans.

Adrián Estrada

Wixárika artist Adrián Estrada creates intricate beadwork rooted in his community’s symbolic traditions. The beaded animal figures found across the resort draw on the cosmological worldview of his Indigenous heritage. Rendered in vibrant color and pattern, Adrián’s work reflects a visual language passed down through generations.

Maryan Vare

Maryan Vare is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nayarit whose work spans painting, illustration, and spatial interventions. Her site-specific pieces at Rosewood Mandarina add a contemporary visual layer that engages with the surrounding architecture and environment. These include the colorful murals in the Rosewood Explorers Club, based on ancestral Wixárika fairytales, and the reliefs in Asaya Spa, made with traditional chukum plaster.
