Learn to tack and jibe like an America’s Cup sailor
Relive the thrill of the America’s Cup on Bermuda’s spectacular seas, with lessons aboard an International One Design yacht from champion sailor and America’s Cup host Tucker Thompson.
The greatest sailing event for the world’s oldest international sporting trophy – the America’s Cup is what legends are made of. Rosewood Bermuda offers guests the unprecedented opportunity to step in the deck shoes of a man who has been there, for a one-on-one sailing lesson like no other, with former Cup competitor and official host Tucker Thompson.
Tucker, also known as the face of the 2017 America’s Cup, will teach guests the ropes on an International One Design (IOD) yacht. These iconic 33-foot day racers are the first class of yachts awarded International Classic Yacht status by the International Sailing Federation, and beloved by sailing enthusiasts.
Cruise the spectacular waters of Bermuda – where the last America’s Cup was held – on a classic IOD. This small island in the Atlantic boasts a huge maritime tradition, and guests can enjoy the salty thrill of being on the open ocean, while mastering the fundamentals of sailing during the intensive sessions with Tucker.
It will be all hands on deck the second day as guests head out for luxury and adventure on the high seas, applying their newfound skills alongside Tucker and his crew. Between hoisting the sails and navigating the boat, there will be opportunities to dive into Bermuda’s sparkling waters and snorkel around a private island, before ending the day with an unforgettable sunset dinner and champagne toast.
