On California’s Iconic Central Coast, New Craft Cocktail Menu Draws Inspiration from Female-Written Works

Montecito, CA (January 20, 2023) – At Rosewood Miramar Beach, the The Manor Bar is pleased to announce its new series of cocktails inspired by female-written works of literature and protagonists entitled “Chronicles of Cocktails: Volume II.” This new expression of The Manor Bar’s innovative drinks menu is imbued with modernist techniques and elevated flavor combinations offering a creative cocktail tasting tour that is both sophisticated and whimsical. From colors and layers, flavors to garnishes, each element reflects the voices and vision of women-led works for a literary journey to be sipped and savored.
“When we created The Manor Bar concept, we wanted to combine both classic and inventive elements for a culinary approach to cocktails,” says Itzel Gracian, Bar Manager at The Manor Bar. Gracian adds, “The multifaceted appeal of literature provides such rich material for our flavor-forward menu and this new iteration dedicated to and celebrating women, is our most exciting showcase yet.”
Nestled within Rosewood Miramar Beach’s Manor House, The Manor Bar is an elegant yet approachable destination for handcrafted cocktails and live music. Lounge-style seating is flanked by a wrap-around bar on one end and fireplace on the other, and the mahogany walls are adorned with original art by masters Fernando Botero and Mel Bochner. The atmosphere is completed with recessed bookshelves and French doors that lead out to Rosewood Miramar Beach’s Great Lawn, giving the overall impression of a grand study or personal library. Inspired by these surroundings, the new cocktail list, entitled “Chronicles of Cocktails,” takes its cues from the women in literature with drinks that draw on history and look to the future.

The Manor Bar debuted its literary menu in 2022 where classic works transform into libations for an exciting exploration of the senses. Each cocktail—from vibrant colors to flavors and garnishes—is inspired by the locations, characters, seasons, and sentiments of celebrated literary masterpieces, bringing guests on a journey one sip at a time. Previous subjects have included Crime and Punishment, Fahrenheit 451, The Crossing, and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. To complement, Rosewood Miramar Beach executive chef Massimo Falsini has created a new menu for The Manor Bar. The selection of bites ranges from Caviar service to elevated takes on bar staples, such as Hanks Sliders, and Santa Barbara Fish Market Fish Fry.
