Jorge Hernandez has been appointed spa director of Sense®, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Bermuda, the island’s 200-acre premier resort located in Tucker’s Point, which reopened in April 2018 following a comprehensive renovation. In his new role, Hernandez will lead the overall vision of Sense, A Rosewood Spa, with a focus on creating innovative spa and wellness services to enhance the overall guest experience. The new approach will explore the sense of Bermuda, incorporating local elements such as cedar wood, hibiscus, ginger and pink sands.
“I am excited to be a part of the incredible Rosewood Bermuda team, and assume this position at Sense, A Rosewood Spa,” said Hernandez. “Our vision is to develop Sense Spa as a complete wellness destination for guests, members and Bermuda residents. To make the spa experience more holistic, we are planning to begin 2020 with a new series of signature “Sense of Wellbeing Retreats” each curated with different fitness activities, spa experiences, culinary options and workshops oriented towards balancing the senses.”
Hernandez brings thirteen years of experience to his role as spa director. As a seasoned spa professional, Hernandez has managed and led teams in five-star hotels and ultra-luxury resorts maintaining high-quality standards and guest services. Most recently, Hernandez served as spa director at the Chileno Bay Resort & Residence, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, in Los Cabos. There, he oversaw the spa’s day-to-day operations and finances and developed new, locally-inspired wellness experiences.
Prior to joining Chileno Bay, Hernandez was the spa manager at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and Excellence Punta Cana. Earlier in his career, Hernandez oversaw spa operations at the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya as well as Fairmont Mayakoba.
