(Updated 2 December, 2017)

Rosewood Hong Kong redefines the benchmark for luxury accommodation with dramatic and enveloping harbor and skyline views from its impeccably designed guestrooms and will also feature the highest number of and largest luxury suites in the city

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® will open the ultra-luxury brand’s first Hong Kong property in September 2018 in the new Victoria Dockside arts and culture district situated at a prime harborfront location at the former New World Center on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui.   Rosewood Hong Kong will occupy 43 floors of the newly built 65-story tower whose striking form and glowing crown will become an instantly recognizable icon on the famous skyline.

Rosewood Hong Kong is destined to create exciting new benchmarks in cuisine, design, stylish accommodation, culture and lifestyle for the city and Rosewood’s global clientele.  It will become a new brand icon for the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® collection of exclusive properties worldwide and the jewel in the crown of Victoria Dockside, the vibrant new international center for premier art, design and leisure experiences scheduled for completion in 2019.

“As one of the world’s great cities, with iconic character and landscape, Hong Kong is a superlative location to open a Rosewood hotel and exquisitely express the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy,” says Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.  “We aim for this hotel to capture Hong Kong’s grace and dynamism, culture and modernity, while debuting Rosewood’s engaging, intuitive and refined service here in our home city.”

Rosewood Hong Kong will be the centerpiece of Victoria Dockside under development by New Word Development Limited, with a masterplan by acclaimed New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), which helped shape Tokyo’s Roppongi Hills and transform New York’s Hudson Yards.  Under KPF’s direction, the hotel‘s architecture will blend classic design elements with references to its vibrantly contemporary surroundings.  James Corner Field Operations, landscape architects for the hotel and district, previously received worldwide acclaim for transforming New York’s High Line into one of the city’s most popular attractions.

The design of Rosewood Hong Kong is the story of the gracious lifestyle within an elegant estate, and this impression will be cast immediately upon arrival and extend throughout the open public spaces, private guestrooms and event venues.  Mr. Tony Chi and his New York-based studio, tonychi, will not merely focus on aesthetics but upon every fine detail to create memorable experiences for guests and visitors.  Mr. Chi’s approach to expressing the Rosewood brand’s A Sense of Place® concept was lauded at Rosewood London when it opened in 2013.

Rosewood Hong Kong will offer 413 guestrooms which, starting at 53 square meters, will be among the largest standard guestrooms of any luxury hotel in the city.  In keeping with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® guiding concept, more than 80 percent of the rooms will showcase majestic Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island views through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows; Hong Kong’s wondrous locale and unique character will be an ever-present guest experience.  All will feature the luxury of simple pleasures and residential ambience of a tasteful private home.

Responding to the changing guest preferences for more residential-style living and greater flexibility to rest, work, and entertain while traveling, the hotel will also showcase 90 of the city’s most spacious and elegantly designed suites, the highest number of any five-star luxury hotel – including the largest standard suite at 92 square meters.  To reflect the different needs of today’s affluential traveler, the collection of suites will also include 18 truly unique specialty suites, designed as the ultimate expression of Rosewood Hong Kong’s high style, warmth and memorable experience, with a wide range of distinctive features including private sky gardens and swimming pools, integrated wellness facilities, duplex configurations, as well as two- and three-bedroom options for families.

There will be eight dining options; the Manor Club executive lounge providing an array of exclusive privileges for its guests; and recreational facilities comprising a fitness center, swimming pool and the first urban setting for Asaya, Rosewood’s new holistic wellness concept.  The Pavilion will not only introduce some of Hong Kong’s most thoughtfully designed and significant event facilities in Rosewood’s signature, high-end residential-style; it will feature one of the city’s largest Grand Ballrooms at 1,000 square meters with a capacity of 720.  Together with the complement of other venues, the hotel will offer a staggering 2,826 square meters of function and event spaces, which will not only include state-of-the-art technology and latest thinking in space and event planning, but also take advantage of Rosewood Hong Kong’s unique harborfront location with soaring windows and private planted terraces to create truly memorable meetings and events for guests.

Rosewood Residences will include 186 luxury accommodations for longer stays, ranging from luxury studios to three-bedroom duplexes – some with outdoor terraces and all with bird’s eye views – located on the top 19 floors of the tower.  They will be designed with the residents’ privacy, convenience and needs in mind.  Rosewood Residences will offer a separate private entrance, a dedicated lounge, indoor swimming pool and fitness center along with special services, access and amenities for residents.

Rosewood Hong Kong will join the ranks of Rosewood’s global collection of distinctive, iconic properties such as Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel in Paris, The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York, and Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort in Mexico.  Its sister Asian properties include Rosewood hotels and resorts in Beijing, Phuket and Sanya, and upcoming in Phnom Penh, Luang Prabang, Bangkok, and Guangzhou.
