SANTA FE, NM – Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, New Mexico’s most lauded hotel, is embarking upon an exciting renovation of its guestrooms and suites. The Inn has chosen to once again work with Wilson Associates, the design firm who created the hotel’s interiors when it opened over 22 years ago. Designer Jim Rimelspach has reimagined the Inn’s 58 guestrooms to reflect a modern, sophisticated aesthetic while still celebrating the hotel’s Southwestern spirit and Adobe architecture. Work will begin in January 2014 and will be completed in March 2014 with the Inn remaining open during the refurbishment.
Rimelspach has chosen a restful palette of natural, earth tones with colorful accents provided by pieces such as pillows made from classic Pendleton blankets. Hand-crafted wooden furniture has been custom designed to fit with the fresh, contemporary and residential feel of the interiors. In keeping with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ guiding philosophy of A Sense of Place®, Rimelspach has also drawn upon the work of Santa Fe’s renowned artistic community with beautiful terracotta ceramics by local artist, Lorraine Lewis, framing the rooms’ kiva fireplaces. The city’s Native American heritage will also be reflected with historic ledger prints, dating back nearly 100 years, framed and hung on the walls. Bathrooms will feature new fixtures, quartz countertops and porcelain tiles.
“Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi is woven into the very fabric of Santa Fe,” says Sandra Finlay, the Inn’s managing director. “Jim Rimelspach fully understands this and his designs will sympathetically and seamlessly refresh our guestrooms making them the most welcoming, comfortable and luxurious in the city. By using the work of local artists and artisans, he is also bringing Santa Fe into the hotel allowing our guests to fully immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of this wonderful city.”
