Rodrigo Azanza is a painter, muralist, illustrator, and designer based in Baja California Sur. His work draws from the region’s natural beauty and cultural depth, blending heritage with a contemporary point of view.

Inspired by the flora and fauna of his surroundings since childhood, each piece reflects a strong connection to nature and a respect for its preservation. His style is rooted in Mexican folk art, expressed through bold color and symbolism, while also exploring elements of surrealism and realism to create a distinct artistic voice.

Artist in Residence

Inside La Cava

Within our La Cava wine cellar, Rodrigo will create an original mural using ancestral techniques and earth pigments sourced from the deserts of Baja Sur. These Fresco techniques—one of the earliest painting methods—allow the artwork to become part of the architecture itself, as if it were discovered rather than created.

Guests will have an opportunity to personally view Rodrigo's creative process. In addition, a curated selection of his original artworks, alongside ceramics by his wife, Coty Childers, will also be featured in the resort’s boutique.
