Matt Friend steps onto the Café Carlyle stage for a three-night engagement, April 21–23, 2026. Bringing sharp wit, uncanny impressions, and an old-soul sensibility, Friend has emerged as one of comedy’s most compelling rising stars. A 27-year-old comedian, actor, and impressionist, he discovered his passion for entertainment at age four after watching Austin Powers, sparking a lifelong fascination with voices, characters, and culture. A graduate of NYU’s Gallatin School, he has built a devoted following of over one million fans across TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and other platforms.
Friend has appeared on The Howard Stern Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Today Show, MSNBC, and more, and in 2019 won Kenan Thompson’s Ultimate Comedy Experience at Carolines on Broadway. Known for a repertoire of more than 250 impressions, he hosted the 2024 NHL Awards, delivering the highest ratings in the event’s history, headlined the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, performed at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner alongside Colin Jost, and has lent his voice to The Simpsons and Family Guy. A fixture on comedy stages and red carpets alike, Friend is a must-stop presence at major cultural events, earning praise from figures including Howard Stern, Jeff Goldblum, Paul Giamatti, and John Oliver, and now brings his singular comedic voice to the iconic Café Carlyle.
