Café Carlyle is delighted to welcome Tony and Grammy Award winner John Lloyd Young for a special residency April 7-11, 2026. Best known for originating the role of Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical and international sensation Jersey Boys, Young brings his unmistakable voice and commanding stage presence to one of New York City’s most iconic venues for five nights of unforgettable performances.
For his portrayal of Valli, Young made Broadway history, becoming the only American actor to win the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and Theatre World Award for a Broadway debut. He sings lead vocals on the Platinum, Grammy Award–winning Jersey Boys Original Cast Recording and reprised his star-making role onscreen in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation for Warner Bros.
Beyond Broadway, Young is celebrated for his genre-spanning artistry, interpreting classic favorites that range from nostalgic pop and R&B to jazz and Broadway. His five-star-rated solo album, My Turn…, highlights his soulful command of R&B standards. His work as a former appointed member of President Barack Obama’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities further reflects a career defined by both artistic excellence and cultural impact, making this Café Carlyle residency one not to be missed.
