Café Carlyle is delighted to welcome back Benmont Tench for a special residency March 31 - April 4, following his sold-out debut last year. A founding member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tench returns for a series of intimate performances showcasing his singular musicianship, deep musical roots, and understated brilliance.
Widely regarded as one of contemporary music’s finest keyboard players, Tench’s unmistakable touch has shaped decades of recordings. Beyond his work with the Heartbreakers, he has contributed to albums by Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, the Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, John Prine, the Chicks, and many others. As producer Jimmy Iovine once noted, “If you want a track to sound better, you just put Benmont’s part higher in the mix.”
Tench will also perform music from his acclaimed second solo album, The Melancholy Season, a deeply personal and resonant work produced by Jonathan Wilson that embraces space, intimacy, and emotional clarity - promising an evening of warmth, reflection, and musical storytelling.
