In partnership with the Living Reefs Foundation, guests of Rosewood Bermuda and visitors to the island can make a positive impact in sustaining Bermuda's delicate reef system. Through educational seaside chats guests will discover the vital economic and environmental value of Bermuda's Coral Reef system before enjoying a leisurely snorkel to the Coral Gardens set a mere 3-7 feet below the surface of Castle Harbour. During the tour, guests will see the Living Reefs installations, where young corals are planted to repropagate the reef system once decimated by post-world-war construction.
Participants less inclined to snorkeling or swimming can opt to use a kayak in combination with an underwater viewfinder so they can still experience the vibrant underwater sea life even above sea level.
For those wanting to participate in coral planting actively, opportunities to adopt and plant coral and mini coral reefs can be arranged starting from USD150. Participating in this program directly benefits the research capability of the Living Reefs Foundation, which in turn impacts scientific studies vital for the restoration and maintenance of coral reef systems across the globe.
